«Five o’clock» — 3,2 mln e-tickets for railroads in Ukraine, MFA Twitter meeting and fighting wrong-parked cars with an app

It’s 5 PM again — and it’s time for “Five o’clock”, the freshest news from Ukrainian tech.

The first post in our digest is about… railroads. 4 mln pcs — that’s the total amount of tickets bought via “Ukrzaliznytsia” website as well as via different online booking services for railroad trips in Ukraine. And almost 3,2 mln of them were e-tickets, so this service grows very fast.

If you not only like to travel but also enjoy studying, it’s time to pay attention to UCU Journalism M.D. program. A bunch of scholarships is available for talented young journalists who want to have Master’s degree in one of the best private universities of Ukraine.

And if you are an activist and a Twitterholic you can meet Pavlo Klimkin, Head of MFA of Ukraine, — he wants to hold a meeting with Twitter users. Being an active microbloger is not enough. You should answer three questions first and be the best one in it.

Some thoughts about smart cities in Ukraine from our editor-in-chief — he considers that making lots of e-services, mobile apps and smart-green-techs is not the only option to build a truely smart city. And maybe it’s time to build a smart country?

For those who want to make something to change reality Ivan Shykhat-Sarkisov, head of CODE CLUB Ukraine, made a presentation at Kyiv Maker Faire — take a look at it to know how to make a robotics club for kids in just 2 weeks.

And finally some smart changes in Ukrainian city life will happen soon: those who violate rules of car parking should be aware — a person with a smartphone will soon become a “hunter” for wrong parking so that Ukrainian police can sue the violators.
